Filled
Emptiness
A world of silence, beauty, light, contrast and tonality of green and blue with sculptural and meditative aspects, sometimes with hidden people and soundless animals.
Filled
Emptiness
“You don’t have to go far to encounter the poetry of nature. It’s closer than you think. You just have to see it.”
Filled
Emptiness
Total empty spaces as metaphors for isolation and an open mind that sees fullness. When the eye adjusts to the flatness of the ground or sea, fine nuances of shapes and colours emerge.
Filled
Emptiness
The lone world of one or more figures becomes touchable, visible, and man becomes a small part of it, encased in it.
Full empty spaces are vast landscapes sculpted in a way that can no longer be found in Belgium, with its small-scale built-up plots of land.
Gabriëlla dedicates her Filled Emptiness series to the poetry of the forests and wilderness around her. She recalls and conjures up memories from previous trips abroad, walks through the woods outside her house, and even views from her window of her “little Belgian paradise.”
